changing fuel filter
I endured the pleasant task of changing my fuel filter today, I'd love to meet the ******* that created that design. For those of you who haven't done this yet allow me to explain. With ur 90 lifted look under the rear passenger side where the floorboard raises to become the foundation for the seat. There it is, you'll notice u can only see the very bottom of it and can only get to one of the two fuel lines needed to remove. You need to unfasten the two straps holding the fuel tank. Allow it to sag. Now you'll be able to see the 5mm Allen holding it up. You'll also see that the top fuel line actually follows the side of the filter up the harness. Basically u need to loosen the Allen enough to yank it down and be careful not to bend the plastic fuel lines. Most likely ur driving with the original filter still like I was. Most mechanics would look at it and say f-•k that. Haha, good luck

Reason I was happy to pay to have my Audi master mechanic to it for me. I hate working with gas, he has a lift and the BTDT to do it quick and painlessly without breaking anything. I recall maybe $60 in cost.
I am good to go for another 60-100 or something now.

it is not so bad on FWD. When I do mine on my Q I plan on..
just patching the line where the fuel filter "was" and relocating the fuel filter somewhere else. Under the car, in the engine bay, anywhere but where it is

Audi learned and on the C4 they relocated the fuel filter to the front left fender under the hood. Changing the filter is child's play.
Not sure about the latest models but I am sure back in the day so many mechanics complained about the horrible location on the 90Q they listened.
