Default Cold Start

My Audi 100 2.0litre (was advised to post in this forum)(AAD engine code, KE Motronic fuel injection) has a problem. When it hasnt been driven for a few hours, it doesnt start too well. It seems to help to press the throttle. This shouldnt be necessary. Anyone know what this would do to help start the car? Lots of things have been done on the car, new leads, plugs, temp sender unit, fuel pump afew months ago, fuel filter etc. When started car runs fine, no problems at all. Could it be a loss of residual pressure, and where would you look for this? Any help appreciated!
