I'm looking for a new instrument cluster, or at least speedo/odometer for my CQ as one of the little gears in the speedo is missing some teeth. I'd also like to replace my automatic climate control with the basic 80/90 dial control heat. Does anyone have this control panel and cables so I can retrofit my CQ with the dial controls? I hope it's not considered a faux pas to post requests like this, if it is I apologize in advance.

Changing Auto Climate to Manual controls is a major operation. The Manual controls use a cable system to move valves and air flaps. None of that will be in place with an Auto system.

The best way to make the change, if you reallly want to, is to replace the air box and controls, including valves. You will have to remove the entire dash to do so.<ul><li><a href="http://www.odometergears.com/subpages/audi.html">http://www.odometergears.com/subpages/audi.html</a></li></ul>

IIRC Its quite a bit of work for the retrofit. I would also tell you to fix your own speedo because buying a whole one is going to cost alot more.

I know it needs a lot work, new blower, climate head unit, rewiring, maybe even some new lines and fittings but it will be good time to refresh whole AC unit and convert to 134. Summer time, we need some warm weather out here!

I have the dashboard and heater box out of the car rignt now. I am looking to replace the heater box with a manual control unit with the cables and turn dial heater controls upon reassembly.

Anyone know of a parts car with manual control heater box, cables and control unit?
