so i am pulling out of the parking lot at work and my back tires start spinning. startled, i notice that my differential lock is on. i push the button to turn it off but it doesn't. i accelerate again and the wheels begin to spin again. so i stop and turn off the car and then start it again. STUPID LIGHT IS STILL ON AND THE BUTTON WONT TURN IT OFF!! so i turned the car off again and unhooked the battery. after hooking it back on and starting her up, the diff lock is finally off. later, after driving home with no problem, i decide to go to the store. start up the car and guess what??? yeah, stupid diff lock is on and wont turn off!!! any suggestions? i really dont want to tear her apart. please tell me it is something easy!

unplug it and see if it still happens

It takes a good 20s to turn off when you turn your car back on, but it should reset.
