Ha! It's cool with me. I5 engines last forever, don't usually burn oil and have enough power...
for my style of driving.
I used to want a V-6, but the I5s are so easy to work on, I've talked myself out of it. In fact, I may pick up a 3rd I5 10v. I think I'm losing my mind to audi-mania. What's the treatment?

same here... (some time ago)
I Pulled the Distributor and put spacers in it, but the sound remained. I removed the valve cover to inspect and look for (cam to cam) chain wear or evidence of rubbing and there was none. Then unexpectedly, the sound went away when I replaced my water pump! Sad part is, in that situation there's so many things it could be. You have to do everything you can to isolate it and hope for a lucky guess the first time.
