Default Fun!

This is what I did last weekend. Done at dusk on an abandoned highway. That's redline in 5th, once in 6th the speed climbs very slowly. If you look closely you can see the digital speedo says 151MPH (It also does great AWD burnouts). The car is a 2000 996 C4. A close friend let me borrow it for a week, I put over 1500 miles on it. I can't resists making comparisons to my Audi. It pulls slightly harder than my car did before the engine rebuild, but not by much. It has much more low end power, and is more driveable around town. For the handling, it has more ultimate grip and has a much greater tendancy to oversteer, however I like the steering feel much better on my car. The steering in the porsche has a very strong on-centre feeling that I'm not sure I like. With the 2B coilovers, body roll and ride quality is comparable between the two. The brakes are probably my favorite part on the porsche, and make me realize how inadequate the current setup I have is.

Fortunatley this happened while driving at 50mph and happened right after I picked the car up, but I still wasted my day sitting around a garage. End result - 4 Brand New Pirelli Rosso tires

Audi Content, should have the time to fix the 90 by the middle of June. As well I bought a "Road Dyno", I plan on experimenting with, hopefully it will give some fairly accurate power numbers until I get some AWD dyno time.

"Road Dyno"? You mean like a G-tech?

I would rather spend 140$ on this than on a G-Tech. Once I spend some time using it I can find out if it is truly worthwhile. The end results are only as good as the information you put in the software to start with. CD, frontal area, gear ratios, tires size, weight, etc. If these numbers are off even by a little, the end result won't be very useful.

http://www.charm.net/~mchaney/roaddyno/index.html</a

You're right, looks much better than a G-Tech. I'm looking forward to your results!
