Default a funny thing happened with my a/c this weekend...

i was on my way up to the lake this weekend with a carload of friends and gear, when someone noticed some kind of vapor or smoke coming from the center dash vents! now it was very hot outside (33C or 91F) and i had the a/c on "auto" at about 20C (68F) and sure enough, about every couple of minutes it would blow a white odorless vapor or smoke out of the vent. this happened only about 5 or 6 times and didn't seem to affect the a/c performance. has anyone ever seen this before? know what it is?

thanks.

Default Used to happen to me all the time...

I assumed it was some sort of condensation or possibly even coolant vapor. Would happen when the A/C got really cold. Was never a problem, or symptomatic of one.

Default CONDENSATION

I have seen that on my 1995 90 Sport Quattro and on a recent flight to Hawaii, it was pouring out os the vents.
I asked my friend, Don Steger, who owns a shop exclusively for DeLorean's in Garden Grove, CA and he said it was condensation.

I have a 1988 90 and it does the same thing periodically. Condensation sounds right.

I have never been in another car with an A/C system as good and cold as an Audi90.

This is happening to me right now and i am praying it is not my heater core. Even when i have my heater or a/c turned off you can see the vapors coming out and fogs up my windows like crazy.
