Default heater not getting hot...

ok, first post here...need some help on my heater. i've got a 1991 90 20v with some heater problems. doesn't seem like my engine temps are getting hot enough. my oil temp gauge is reading under 100f after the car has been running for 20 mins. my coolant level looks normal. thermostat? if so, which temp thermostat should i replace it with? please help, need heat! heated seats are great, but....

yup! the fan does turn on after a little while...

Default Do this.............

Start the car, leave it in park, let it run until the rad fan comes on.

Then go touch the top of the radiator with your hand, is it warm? Hot?

Default my mistake...

i just tried this and the fan never turned on! the top of the radiator did get hot after 20 mins. of idling... thermostat?

also, my temp gauges never really go up. my water temp gauge on my dash doesn't really move and the oil temp gauge doesn't really go up past the 60 degree celcius mark....

thanks. one other question, do you know which temp thermostat i should go with? should i just go with what is desgnated for my car? or should i go lower? higher? not sure if there is any benefit from going either higher or lower...

Default thermostat match the switch

when in doubt change both, or get the lower temp one.
