Default help!!! 10v problems

my 90q 10v is running rough, misses and carries on real bad - especially under a load. i thought it was a DPR so i replaced the whole fuel dist. with one from a running parts car. made no difference what so ever. all my grounds are good (both on head, one on intake) car did throw a code but i didn't copy it down, then it stopped kicking the code when i got some paper - hasn't since. if you unplug the DPR it makes no difference in the peformance. good voltage at the plug. next i was wondering if a idle/full throttle switch would cause this? i have heard that a bad idle switch will cause these to run terrible. i didn't have a fuel press. gauge on me so i have yet to check fuel press. would insufficient fuel press. do this? any ideas????

Default Try a known good set of ignition wires.

I've had this sort of issue a couple of times with old wires. Recently I read a post about a defective set of new wires as well. HTH.

cap and rotor, maybe wires, but I never heard of a fuel pump causing a misfire

Default This would be my first guess as well.

Several times, on different cars, I've run into a newly developed problem simply with the Spark Plug Cables going bad. All on their own. Even more common in cold freezing weather but happens in warm weather too.

I'd swap out the cables and see if that doesn't make a big improvement.

Next on the list, believe it or not, I'd pick the knock sensor. They can go bad or the cable can go bad. Simple and relatively cheap to replace one (~$45-50). With a bad knock sensor, your timing can get so retarding that you have missing and low performance.

Default Sorry, new second best guess:

Spark Plugs themselves? Are you running factory recommended plugs? When was the last time they were changed out?

Then, knock sensor 3rd.
