With inspection, my lights are a "slight" tinted.
They look very factory with the black finish.
The stuff bonds very well with the lights, almost soaks into the lights. No cracks, weathering or any problems of any sort. I had a set on my Audi Coupe for nearly 12 years. They were much darker then the 90's! They looked as new 12 years after first tinting!
Try the stuff out on a spare tail light from a salvage yard. See what ya think.
Over spray is no factor as long as you cover everything well.
Body shops paint entire fenders, hoods, etc everyday by simply masking off the remaining areas.
You might consider a spare set of tail lights you can tint. In some states the law is very good at sniffing them out, depending on how dark you make them. Usually the darker, the more noticable.
With a spare set, you can switch back and forth and not worry about tickets. This is what I did with my Coupe lights, since they were so dark. I had the fronts done on the Coupe too! Police never commented on the fronts, only the tails.
