anyone have one to sell. There's no way I am paying $800 to "maybe" fix my vibration under braking. Although I can't find it to be anyhting else. Any suggestion?.....'88 90 quattro

Are you sure that the center support is bad? I have seen them stuffed with silicon on other vechicles might be an repair option better than replacing the axle

On some cars there is a MB bearing that is an exact fit. I would check with Audifans...it might just be for the 5000.
Usually you will get a "thrumming" sound, not a vibration, when it is bad.

Highly unlikely that the driveshaft is your problem
Driveshaft is just coasting along unless you are downshifting which would cause the vibration before the brakes are applied. Put transmission in neutral and see when vibration occurs. If it starts when you apply the brakes it is in the brake system. I would check all of the rotors for warping or excessive runout. The problem is in the braking system not likely anything in the drive train.
