I think there is a chip for the '93 because it had a BOSCH ECU....
I still don't think it would do much on a stock N/A engine. You'd have to have a ton of mods like Miktip.

Re: Chip
Chips are more benificial on "turbo" engines.
On a "NA" motor(Naturally Aspirated(non turbo))
chips dont really show any gains.
Most tuners who can get you one, only offer about 10-12hp on a NA motor.
Those who have been on this list for some time, have seen reports come back from those that have a chip on their NA motors, stating "no real gains" and much lighter wallet! ;o)
For a chip to truely "work" for a specific car, it would need to be programmed for a very specific motor. Fueling, ignition curves, etc, all would need to be highly taylored to a very specific application. Also know as "cookie-cutter" chips.
For a "bone-stock" application this is ok, as long as you do get results from the $300+ mod!
I know of 2 people who have a chipped 93-95 90, and both report, "no noticable gains".
For a "modified engine" as mine, you would need to taylor a chip specifically for that motor, to gain fully from it.
This is where the Apexi comes in. It allows one to "tweek" specific parameters + or - 20% and custom taylor those tweeks to your specific engine at specific rpms. Its basically a "tunable ECU attachment".
Where a chip is set in stone, and is untunable once installed in your ECU.
In my experience, chipping a "bone-stock" 1993-1995 USA Audi 90 V6 is a waste of money. You will see more gain with a throttle-body & cone setup, than with a chip. Not to mention your current chip would need to be de-soldered, and the new chip soldered in!($$$$$)
Or if your "bold, adventurious & daring" take on the Apexi challenge! ) So far, mines proving to be ticket! ;o)

I can get an upsolute chip next saturday for $350...
they claim an 18 hp gain, which I don't think will happen...but they have a $ back guarantee...so I don't know if I'm gonna do it or not...
