Default need help...soon!!!

ok,here is the thing,
i have been meaning to buy from ebay a motor for my sunroof.
1)i cannot seem to find exactly the one that fits my car,typ89 although i have seen that audi kinda uses mostly 2 or 3 different motors for all their vehicles.I have found one(pic) which is the one that B4 and S2 uses.I would like someone from this forum that knows to verify this for me.

2)I cannot seem to find the cover used for this kind of change.I have found though the cover used for audi V8 of that period of time, which uses different motor than the one on the pic,but the same switch, which makes me believe that,if cover and switch match, then probably the cover will match my roof, since if the motor used on the B4 uses this kind of switch,it must have this kind of cover.

If anyone knows something about this trouble,so i can go ahead and bid on the damn thing, please please say something!!!!!!

Default I can not find any parts at the wreckers, EXCEPT sunroof motors...

They are still in EVERY audi I go into in EVERY wreckers near where I live.

My advice would be to go to the wreckers and pick one up! Cheep too!

Default My cars are Type 89 or B3's. That's the switch that they have. I have never...

torn into the roof to see the motor. I wish I could help you out. Does the guy have a part number for the motor?

If so, type the part number into http://www.impexfap.com/ . Then once you get to the part, you can use the [see models] link to see which cars that part fits.

It may be a sorta backwards way to do it, but it could work. Hope he has a part number off the motor! good luck!

Default Using Russian ETKA & IMPEXFAP, found the following:

The part number 893 877 795 A is for 1988 to 1993 Audi 90 5 cyl sunroof motors. It also works for 1988 to 1990 Audi 80 4 cyl sunroof motors. They have a used one (IMPEXFAP) for $95 and a new one for $522.95 (holy @#$~!!!).

The cover is part number 443 877 829 T . There are several variations/prices. I suppose these are colors/ materials. Were some leather and some cloth? Anyway, the price runs from $34 to $106 depending on which color/material. I do not know what the various suffixes mean.

Default BS note to any interested: The 16 minutes from my first post to this one was how long ...

it took to use the Russian ETKA and IMPEXFAP to determine the parts, prices and availability of these items. And that was while answering the phone and regular emails at work.

Researching answers doesn't have to be hard. :-)
