Default New to Audis, looking at an 89 Audi 90 Quattro

Hey everyone, i'm seriously looking at getting an 89 Audi 90 Quattro. I have no experience with Audi's so maybe someone can help me out here.

The car seems to be in good condition mechanically and cosmetically, and appears to have been well maintained since it was originally purchased. My only major concern is that it has 170,000 miles on the clock. How many more miles would it be reasonable to assume that I could get out of this car? I am also worried about reliability. I need a car that won't be breaking down on me, and that won't cost a fortune to repair. I know a lot of this depends on how well the car has been maintained, but i'm wondering what everyone else's experiences have been.

Default If you need a car tha won't break down and is cheap to repair get a

Toyota with fewer miles. Old german cars take money or skill to keep on the road.

If you do get this car, make sure you have records on the timing belt or bidget ot have it done asap.

Default Not always, but, people sell old cars for a reason...tired of maintaining them, tired of costs...

...when I got my '93 the previous owners had just paid the dealer for a timing belt job, bunch of new parts in the engine. Got 4 rebuilt calipers, new rotors/pads, new windshield, new this, new that. Car was pretty much perfect when I had it - they were just tired of putting so much money into it! ;o)
