Default OK I searched for Hours...

What is the wheel weight on these 16x17 competitions? Just figuring out my current tire weighs 20LBS and the new rims will be be 19.6 so if I want to stay lighter I can go with Kumho ASX @ 21LBS or not lighter..which I guess is a bad idea.. the fat heavy avons @ 23LBS.On another subject... I guess the 5mm difference 37 to 42ET and the tire width 205 to 215 will hopefully cancel each other out.Is this correct? OH... I finally got my centering rings from TR and I am almost ready to roll

Default Going with 5mm more positive offset and 10mm more tire width will move the inside sidewall....

of the tire 10mm closer to the centerline of the car, which may or may not cause rubbing issues with the tie-rod end. I don't think it would, but you'd better measure your current clearance before buying.

You're right that the outside sidewall of the tire will end up in the same place, so you shouldn't rub the fender.

All this assumes tire sizes are exact, which they aren't.

All in all, I'd avoid wheels with more positive offset, since it reduces the track of your car and hence hurts handling. 10mm is no big deal for street driving, but if you drive aggressively more track is better.

You sould be okay with any 215 on an et42 wheel, since most people say 225s fit on et37 wheel.

Default i have 17x7 48et OZ rims with 215/45, no issues but i need some spacers to get back to stock look

tires are sucked in too far for my liking and handling is jerky.

Default **** I got 225/45's on my 17x8 with 45et!

I came really close to the tie-rod in the front of my FWD but it was not rubbing, just came too close for comfort. So I bought some spacers, made it looks like the hotness plus some added mental security.

Default Lighter tires = lighter tires

Lighter isn't necessarily a good thing(not necessarily a bad thing either). You want a good quality tire. A heavier tire indeed had implications on rotational mass, but the tradeoff is a much more durable tire(hopefully).
