Default Questions on changing front struts, ball joints, and control arm bushings.

I've got a '93 90CS with bad ball joints and control arm bushings, but I'm not sure about the front struts. Is there any duplication of labor if I change front struts and ball joints/control arm bushings at two different times? In other words, would I save time/labor doing the front struts at the same time as the other items, or is a strut change totally independent from ball joints/CA bushings? Thanks for the input.

It will be independant of the struts. Other than jacking the car up and taking the wheel off.

Default not really

ball joint is attached to control arm. If you release the pinch bolt holding the ball joint into the wheel bearing knuckle, you can remove the control arm with ball joint attached to it by removing the control arm from the subframe.

You do not need to touch the control arm/ball joint to replace struts. Best to do it all at once?? Sure! It makes a world of difference. Necessary, not at all. Would I do it all at once?? Yes. If you could dish out the extra bones for struts/mounts/mount-savers(practically necessary) and maybe like TRE and sway bar links, do it.

I'd do it all at one time as you will need an alignment after you change the ball joints.. You may not need one after a strut change but it's a good idea in my book.. Oh and might as well install some VAP mount savers while your doing it..

Might as well install some VAP Pro-Mounts while you're at it! ;o)
