Default quick tranny mount question

before i get started on this job, I somewhat know you need to remove the heat sheilds around the cats, question is what chance could the bolts bolts break, and do you need to remove any exhaust or can you get to these? I assume they are more towards the front and that the cats won't be an issue, any pointers?

Default went through search, didnt learn much

ironically the only post that gave me an idea was one of yours with a shot of the underneath.

I ran across this and I didnt make sense, least what i could tell on the b4:

For the snub, you gotta take the bumper, front crossmember, and a few other things off. I welded a peice of 3" exhaust pipe into the spot where the snub rests, restricting it's movement a bit more than stock. I did notice a difference when I did it long ago.

it doesnt look that difficult, i can see bolts where the metal bracket goes from the bumper to the engine with I guess the snub is inside this?

Default I don't think you have to take the bumper and crossmember off on a B4 for the snub

But I have to admit, the one time I looked at it I found I didn't have the proper sized wrench and my socket wrench didn't fit up there so I put it off for another day.

There are plenty of short write-ups on it.

For the search I typed in "gearbox mounts" and 67 items came up.....

The APR snub I have on my 93 fits inside its recess very snuggly! The only movement it allows is in the deflection of the material itself, which is very little. The mod you done on your 88, I performed a simular one on my 86 Coupe. I used a "U" clamp to...
