Ticking after driving at speed.
Went to luch and when I started the car it ticked like usuall. After about 30secs of idle the tick went away, normal. I'm guessing this is b/c the oil finally circulated? Pulled into Wendy's drive through and the car started ticking after it dropped to idle. It then went away again after about a minute or so. Does anyone know why it does this.

Re: Ticking after driving at speed.
It can be a couple of things:
1. Oil needs to be changed. Sometimes after it loses it's viscosity it'll display this symptom, making your lifters a bit more noisy
2. Noisy lifters. After some time even the oil won't quiet them down, therefore requiring replacement.
3. Cracked exhaust manifold or broken exhaust stud. BTDT on both. The noise will rear itself more when there's throttle under load.
That's what comes to mind at the moment.

Re: Ticking after driving at speed.
time to change the oil. same thing was happening to me, then i realised it's been about 3800 miles since my last oil change. cleared the problem right up.
