what's dat noise?
Anyone know what symptoms to look/listen for with a catalytic converter going out?
Over the last 4-6 weeks I've been hearing a hellacious rattling (and getting progressively worse) from that general vicinity on my 1990 CQ.
Since it sounds like more of a "rattle" than anything else, maybe something's just shaken loose, but it seems like it's coming from that same area.
Any ideas?? TIA

I have a loose metal rattle
There's a metal sleeve that goes over the lower section of the downpipe. Once it breaks loose it'll rattle at certain RPM ranges randomly. Cheap fix too, just cut it off.
