Wiring remote starter and door control.
Has anyone performed this on their cars with the factory alarm system? What I'm really after is the remote entry but I've been looking at some units available and noticed that there are remote starters that include remote door openers so I figured I'd kill 2 birds with one stone. I'm not too concerned with the door control aspect, just the remote starter. Are there any issues I should be aware of before I invest in this venture?
TIA.
TIA.

I'm about to do the same to my car...
Just be sure you have an experienced person do the install; lots of places like to hack and chop your wiring to install the alarm. You want someone who is going to pull out the wiring diagrams and do it right.
A note about remote start... this is tough to get to work with Audi's manual transmissions, although it can be done. As of now, I've opted not to do the remote start on mine because it isn't worth the hassle and expense. It's also illegal in some states (including my home state, Maryland) to put on cars w/ manual trannies.
