Default Wiring RS2's....a few relay related questions.

Yes I have STFA,

When connecting the female connectors to the relay, the diagram on my relay box says ground is 85, and that "to the switch" is 86.

However, on Jim's diagram I see he has these to vice a vi.

Should I go ahead and follow the connections on my relay diagram that I bought? Or are these to interchangeble?

Also, I saw the write up on forgoing the Diode solution for "true" euro version, and instead using a 5 prong relay from the high, to the 4 prong relay of the low.

Can anybody shed some light on this....keep in mind, I felt like I had just deciphered hyrogliphics when I finally got a handle on reading this wiring diagram.

Details would be nice for you guys wh have BTDT.

TIA

nick

Default "85" and "86" are the signal from the switch, I don't believe it matters which one is which

I drew it how I hooked it up, it worked for me a year or so until I sold the car. Nor have I heard of anyone else that had problems.

Default Terminals 85 and 86 are the coil...One is your +12VDC signal, the other goes to ground...

I know you know that Jim, but others don't ;-)

Doesn't matter, both ways work for 85/86, the coil does not have a polarity.
