Default 2011 / 2012 / 2013 Audi A3 TDI w/DSG

There are some really good deals on these after the Dieselgate settlement and I'm considering purchasing one as a second car.

What issues should I look for?

Also I know the DSG are problematic, but if the trans fluid was changed on the recommended intervals, is it likely to be OK?

I purchased a 2011 A3 TDI a few weeks ago. I replaced the fuel filter and started off with a fresh oil change. I need to change the transmission fluid at some point. A3 is fun to drive and MPG is awesome! I was commuting in a 2017 Tundra TRD Pro getting 15.5 mpg at 50 miles a day, buying the A3 was good decision. A3 or Audi are maintenance queens keep up on that I should be good to go. I do need to replace timing belt and water pump in 20K miles. I have 82K on the clock. Fun car I recommend one.

If you're in the U.S., the timing belt change interval for the 2.0 TDI A3 is 130K miles. So you may be able to put off the timing job for a little longer.

Thanks for the heads up. Still might change the timing belt at 100K. I drive up and over Teton pass, WY daily. Works the car harder than most commutes. Great little car though.
