Default Black grill surround, from Audi parts..

I stopped by the dealer today to price a spare chrome grill surround, in case I screw up the original removing the chrome.
The parts guy noticed a black one in the ETKA catalog (About $90).. Not sure if it's brilliant black or flat. At least, it will be a lot easier to paint than the chrome one, and I'll still have the original one to put back if necessary.
I have one on order (No stock in US at this time)

I also had him check the 2007 catalog for a TPMS switch.. None listed, so the 97's may not come with it. or they just haven't added that part yet.

Default Did you catch if it is the S-Line grill or the 2.0?

The S-Line has raise vertical bars and a cut-out for the S-Line badge.

Thanks.

since the grills are the same size. I would guess that the "surround" would work for both

I wasn't thinking about just the surround, I assumed it and black inside would make one "grill" part

Ah, I assumed from the first post that the part was "just" the surround. $90 seems low for all

Default I ordered with the S-Line grill w/satin black surround from an importer for $125 shipped.

They cancelled the order soon after they returned from europe. They said there was a problem with their supplier so they refunded my $$$ instead of stringing me along.

I could see the whole thing costing $90 if the one for $125 included importing and being marked up a couple times. I'm going to have to call the local Audi parts guy and ask. For $90 + tax I won't hesitate to buy one.

from him:

Hi Jose,

I wish I could say yes.... Its the only Audi currently on the range that
Audi have not made one for!!!

Weird huh?? Normally every models get a blackout, but none of the new
A3's.... If it changes, I'll let you know for sure!!

Thanks Jose
