Bose - Good or a waste of money?
I have just been looking through tyresmoke.net (purely through curiosity) and was reading a very long thread about how unbelievabley cr@ppy the Bose system is in the old and new A3 compared to other models like the TT and A6.
They say it lacks bass and mid range, and the tweets hardly work at all.
I have never owned an A3 yet, so can't comment...
But i have one coming - with Bose!!!
Is it a waste of good money, is the system a let down?

It's garbage, save the money and get a decent aftermarket system
The HU is the same unit as the non-Bose systems, it is one hell of an improvement on the stock system but that's not saying a lot. You can't upgrade anything on it without replacing everything, it definately lacks treble (no clarity), and the bass is as woolly as a woolly thing, with no thump. It can sound quite good with the the right CD, but the quality of CD's varies so much these days you really do need some control of the sound, rather than what Bose think you should be listening to.

They're talking out of their backsides. I have Bose in my new shape A3 and the bass is plentiful and pretty tight.
It's never going to be as good as a top of the range ICE installation, but it's certainly a decent step up from the standard speaker system and worth the money IMO.
