Default Mirror tilt on reverse

I have a A3 3.2S and according to the manual my passenger mirror should tilt down when the car is in reverse. According to the manual the mirror switch has to be on the R position for this function to work.

Does your A3 do this?

I talked to the dealer and he confirmed that A3s do not have tilted mirrors but today I enjoyed the rain sensor. No more warring which speed to select or getting squeaky wipers.

I was wondering the same thing, the manual says it should do it (this is a great thing for helping you parallel parking), but as far as I can tell mine (brand new '06 2.0T premium package) does NOT do it... what gives? The manual does not say it's only for models with certain options.

Also, the manual mentions a tilt sensor, supposedly sets of the alarm if the car's tilt angle changes while the alarm is set, and it mentions a switch in the driver's door to disable that function. However no such switch on my A3...

What gives? I'd really like my passenger side mirrorr to go down in reverse as I have to parallel park quite a lot in the city and like my rims unscratched!
