Default MTM Stage-II A3

Just installed the MTM Stage-II kit on my wifes 2006 A3 last week. This is the cat back exhaust and new firmware to make it all happy. All I can say is it took a sporty little 'cute' car and turned it into a total animal! This car REALLY needs Quattro now as it will smoke the front tires (stock rubber - they suck) well into third gear. Something odd about an Audi spinning the wheels to me!

This is a great package as it's not too loud, idles nice and smooth, is very tractible in daily driving, works perfectly with the DSG (no hunting or other odd issues), and actually improved the mileage slightly. When one needs to get on it this car definately leaves a smile on the face.

I've been letting her drive my 2005 S4 as the souped up A3 is a lot of fun! As I said add quattro and the sport package (ours has the premium package and the sport suspension with performance tires would really help) and this car would be a real hot ride.

Nice to have a fun car and good fuel econonmy to boot - the 4.2L is a gas pig around town.

Have fun.

I'll wait for the Quattro version A3 here in the US market before making the purchase jump. Make mine with a MTM enhancement also~

If ya wait long enough the 3.2 will be twin turbo'ed I'd suspect.

Cheers,

Default nice review..

Yes it IS nice to get 25mpg out of a fun car like this. But everyone waiting for 3.2L AWD will not see anywhere near the fuel efficiency of the 2.0L FSI engine. I don't believe the U.S. will see the 2.0L AWD for years.

Yes, I agree. I have a good friend with a 3.2L TT and it's not great on gas but perhaps the FSI version will be better. My Audi dealer raves about the A6 3.2L FSI as getting great mileage even in a big car like the A6.

It's too bad on the 2.0L Quattro all because of a supposed fuel tank. Perhaps in Canada we'll luck out.....

$900 for the chip, $1800 for the stainless exhaust. You can get it for $2600 for the package together. The exhaust is expensive but is very nice quality and doesn't sound like a fart can all so popular on many imports these days.
