Trying to decide between A3 and GTI
#22
Re: I take it you're not interested in AWD with either car?
After reading up on the air conditioning and rattling issues on the GTI, I am focusing more on the A3. I am not limited to just those two however, a friend suggested I test drive the Subaru Legacy Spec B with the turbocharged boxer engine. I have to say, having owned several BMWs, other than ball joints going bad on them, I've never had any mechanical or electrical issues, other than normal wear and tear. My E36 M3 has 140,000 miles and the 04 M3 has 48,000 so far. I also want to test drive the Lexus IS 350 and Infiniti G35 sedan and see how they feel. I don't need awd but I would prefer it over FWD if the car is carrying more than 230-250 hp. I test drove the Acura TL and though it's a great car, coming out of tight turns, I felt as though I was arm wrestling the steering in a national championship.

Tested IS 350 and G35 sedan for wife's new car. IS was too small. Almost got G35 (to replace A4)...
Let us know what you end up with.
When I say the IS 350 was too small, it's because my wife hit her head on the roof getting into a car in the showroom.

He has a loyal following of customers. Last I heard, he is a tech for Palisades Audi.
