Default B&O on my 2018 S3 sounds horrible in relation to my 2015 S3

My 2018 S3 B&O sounds awful in comparison to my 2015. My 2015 i could turn up all the way, with the base & sub pretty high and it was crystal clear with zero rattle. On the 2018 the back deck rattles horrible, and this is with the speaker base less than half, and the sub woofer around halfway. I noticed the trunk lid isn't lined in the 18' like it was in the 15'. Does anyone else experience the same sensation, & is there a remedy?

Thanks,

M

Bummmer. I wouldn't get an Audi without B&O anymore... maybe some dynamat is an easy fix?

i have the same issue with my RS3, and my A3. Both 2018. Back deck rattles horribly and from day 1. I read on this site somewhere to take off the plastic covers and line them with foam around the edges. That may help. But I don’t want to mess with it. Gonna ask my dealer. I also had a 2015 A3, and 2017 S3. All did the same, 2 without B&O and 2 with. Poor design. Very annoying. I’m at 1/2 bass, 1/2 subwoofer

No issues at all with my '17 S3. Can't imagine what the difference would be.

I can make my rear deck rattle on my 17 S3 after I got the MMI update and am now able to increase the subwoofer level.

I think i found the issue. The rear trim above the drivers side subwoofer is rattling off the window at certain frequencies. I am going to try and put some foam in between the window and the trim to see if that works. i will report back next week.

I had both as well, the BASS is better in the 18 but you can't run the stereo with the sub turned all the way to max AND the volume high simultaneously.

I think the 18 B&O sounds better, especially at lower volume.

Just adjusted the surround sound setting to 1/2 way. And the focus setting to front. Made a HUGE difference. Tremendously better bass. And less vibration in the rear shelf now.

I have a '18 S3 and rear rattles ridiculously with my subwoofer set at 2/3 and bass at around 3/4. I took my car in to the dealer yesterday and they said it was the rear sub and will be replacing it. I personally don't think that will do the trick since it sounds like something else is rattling, but I'll wait and see how it sounds once the new sub is put in and report back to you guys
