What are you wanting to change about the sound? More bass? Better sound overall? What's your budget?

I'm always surprised to see this inquiry. The B&O system is a bit better than the Bose, but if you're going to spend money on an upgrade, I wouldn't recommend going that direction. It would be a big job to do on your own, and expensive to pay a shop to do. You can get the sets for about 1000$ but i dont think the midbass speakers will fit in the front door panels on the non b&o models.

The worst part about addressing the stock system, no matter which one you got, is having to trust an installer. But going to a b&o system through the dealer I do not think is an option. I could be wrong, you might start out by asking your preferred dealer if they could install a used b&o system into your car. Ultimately, I think the front mid bass drivers are the wrong size for your doors and you have no factory midrange spot in the upper door. I dont think it's a realistic option.
If you want more info on aftermarket equipment this is something I am in the middle of upgrading in my 18 S3. It's more complicated and expensive than it should be. Let me know how deep you want me to go with it, it sounds like you want to replace the entire thing. For that, there is only one legit option in terms of hifi source capability that retains factory functionality. It's the NAV TV ZEN V pre amp. It is the only adapter that can handle these cars right now and it is 750$. Then from there you can do as much or as little as you want but that piece will make it easy to just replace the speakers and use a good amp or set of amps to power them and a sub in the boot.
Nav TV is all or nothing with the stock amp though. You have to completely remove the stock amp to use the adapter.
