Mileage during delivery

Mileage during delivery
Hi guys,
I am quiet curious about what your mileage was during delivery.
I am getting more suspicious of my dealer since many weird things happen to me since i got the car (2nd key problem, finance issue (i maybe have been double charged on audi care), and high mileage during delivery )
When i got my car, the mileage was at 90KM OR 56 mile. They said there was testing done at factory and etc etc, but i think 90 KM is bit too high IMO.
I might call AUDI CANADA to see if they agree if it's reasonable or not.

What do you think they did? 56 miles of test drives, is fine, normally.
It's an S3, many people were curious. Didn't you test drive one?
It's not a Ferrari.

well i asked since i was quite shocked when ppl from different forums reported far less mileage than my car. I mean if 56 miles is reasonable, i guess it's ok then. Coming from buying hondas, buying an AUDI is a totally new experiences and surprises.

I had 36 miles on mine, and it was a custom order that was delivered two days before I picked it up, so I don't believe it could have gone on any test drives. I assume it's factory testing and shipping.

My dealer swap 2014 A6 Prestige TDI came with 6 miles but it was swapped while the car was still at sea. Dealerships differ but most try to avoid putting miles on brand new cars because they know people think new = virtually zero miles. They also have to worry about an accident. Even a small ding is a problem. Yes they do test drive them on a limited basis but if 30, 50, or even 100 miles would hurt an S3 in any way there was something wrong with it. Modern cars can last a very long time -- even S3s driven by crazy Audi enthusiasts.
The few miles on your car mean somebody, possibly dealership people, wanted to test drive an S3. Take it as a compliment to your good taste in cars and dont let it spoil the joy of S3 ownership. Actually, in a perfect world all our cars should be driven until they are broken in, any defects should be corrected, and the odometer should be zeroed before the car is shipped. Just a handfull of very expensive cars get this kind of treatment today. In spite of mass production most manufacturers do an amazing job at keeping defects low so pre-delivery break-in of this kind is unnecessary (and uneconomic).
Based on what other buyers report it may be that Audi test drives a small percentage of their cras at the factory as a QC check.
I hope you can put the miles your vehicle came with off your mind and look instead at the miles that lay before you.
