By the way, I suspect the lag is not related to the turbo. It sounds more like what some have always talked about (aka complaint) with the lag and I have always felt it may be something to do with drive train or related mechanism, not the engine per se. It is predominantly between 1st and 2nd gear. As far as I know, no one has ever come up with a conclusive answer to this. Oddly, I remember someone telling me they had less of this experience when they drove the S3 in D mode compared to Sport mode. Strange.
