Default Replacing Air Filter - help!

I'm struggeling with this guys, I have disconnected the lower right air pipe, but the top one has a lot harder plastic joint that makes it impossible to even budge more than a couple mm. And also, the little breather hose, how do I go about removing that? Any pictures or detailed directions would be appreciated!

Ok figured it out after all. pushed the little breather hose off with a flat plastic tool, wiggled the big air pipes off with Hulk-force while clamping the springs, tugged the whole box up as it is secured with rubber ball-joints, like the little engine cover is, then from there I flipped it, unscrewed the 2 screws under the box, replaced filter, and put it back in reverse

You are working too hard, no need to remove any hoses if all you want is to access the filter element. Remove the case screws and separate the casing.

Normally yes, but not the typical design on this model, i could easily do that on my old golf MK5, but this one doesnt have any screws, just 2 UNDER the filterhousing. But yeah, will probably take me 5 minutes next time, in stead of 2 days looking for any clip or thread on this model.

I should have looked at the picture before posting. My comment applies to A3/S3 8V chassis i.e. late model which is the forum that you are posting. You obviously have an earlier or different model
