Thinking about chipping your A3?
I thought it'd be fair to share the mods Audi implements in the S3 to support the extra horsepower, in case you wanted to push the stock 2.0 power plant 50% more.
This is from an article/review on the 2015 (US) S3:
"The S3 gets a raft of upgrades like a new turbocharger, new exhaust valves, reinforced connecting rods, and new cylinder heads, to name a few changes. "
If it's true, I would argue that an ECU upgrade could risk reliability. (please don't flame me

isn't the A3 2.0T engine also unique in that it's Valvetrain consists of a 16-valve DOHC with valvelift system.
This is what is listed in the tech specs on the A3 brochure book
The A3 1.8T and the A3 TDI are just listed with 16-valve DOHC.
I don't have the S3 brochure but I'm curious as to what type of valvetrain it might spec. My guess is that it's going to say '16-valve DOHC with valvelift system'.
In the brochure of the A4, it also list the A4 2.0T with the 16-valve DOHC with valvelift system valvetrain for its engine.

More details on the upgrades that Audi supplies for the S3;
"Audi takes its 2.0T engine and gives it a thorough revamp for its compact sports sedan: the standard cylinder head is junked in favor of a lightweight aluminum-silicon alloy version that’s stronger and more resilient to temperature, while the exhaust valves, valve seats and springs are new, as are the high-pressure injection valves.
The pistons are swapped, with new bolts and rings, and the connecting rods are reinforced, with new mounts to link up to the crankshaft. That gets a cast iron crankcase with extra reinforcement at the main bearing seats and the main bearing cover."
