new to the forum and audi cars. i have a vcds i’m not sure how to use it really . i bought a 2013 audi a5 from the salvage auction. Cranks but doesn’t start . Crashed in the front end no airbags deployed. Not getting any check engines besides maf and that function restriction. Maf check engine is due to me unplugging it just incase theres a leak i’m missing. Cranks strong but doesn’t not start . also has 2 air bag faults for the 2 front air bag sensors not being plugged in. Any input ? kinda stumped on this one.
No clue if this is relevant but my 2002 A6 was cranking but not starting a while ago. It would only happen shorting after turning off the car and then trying to start it again. Think going into a store and coming out and it not starting. If I let it sit for a while it would start up again. There were no codes when I scanned. It ended up being the crank position sensor. From what I was told the senors would go flacky when it was hot so once it cooled down it would start working again.
Any ways, assuming your 2013 A5 also has a crank position sensor, yours could be just bad and thus your symptoms.
