i have the above cable.

formatted fat32 usb. my ami doesnt play the mp3 in it.

any help is appreciated.

You didn't provide much in the way of info. Are you using an AMI cable or SD card? The FAT32 format refers to an SD card but if an AMI cable, it would use whatever is on your portable device, presumably Apple. What year and model of Audi do you have? Any message in the MMI?

If an SD card, what type and capacity of card are you using? Does the card play the songs on your computer? What is your source for the song files - a Mac or PC? iTunes or other? Are the songs in at least one folder on the card? Have you ever had this or other SD cards that worked previously in the car?

If an AMI cable, what specific Apple model device are you trying to play from? What color is the cable grommet? Black or red or other? Is it an Apple AMI cable or a USB AMI cable to another brand of device? Again, what is the source of the music files? Has the cable ever worked?

i dont have any apple device so i bought a ami usb cable (4F0051510P) online to use it with my scandisk thumb drive 8gb. theres no message on the mmi when i plug it in.

its a b8 s5 2008 model.

it worked when i use the AUX to play mp3 using my phone.

i dont see any colour on the cable. supposed its black.

Are the music files in at least one folder on the thumb drive? Have you tried to see if the thumb drive work in your computer? Have you tried a different thumb drive? This is basic troubleshooting 101.

There may be a limit of files permitted in the MMI - check your manual for the specs. Also, you didn't answer my question about where you sourced the files. If iTunes, they must be copied from the iTunes Music folder nd not the app itself.

yes I copied only 1 mp3 into a new folder in the thumb drive using my laptop.
