Ignition Lock Defective
Its for 2012 Audi S5 Base 60,000 miles . I bought the audi from a dealership about a year ago in which the dealership repoed from its last owner. It had some wires cut up inside the right bumper side that go to the headlights and other things (i don't know about?) but the car works great like normal. It has maybe 4 or 6 wires cut. The key to the car had stopped working a couple months, as far as unlocking the car when i got near it or using the push to start with out physical entering the key into the slot. After that, I had to enter the key physically to start it, nothing changed on the vehicle, it still ran smooth and no indicator lights on the dash. a couple days ago a message popped on the dash (Ignition lock Defective Call Dealership). I can unlock and lock the vehicle, can't start the vehicle nor put the vehicle in neutral to tow it. I disconnected the battery of the car and also changed the batteries on my key and no change. I don't know if the wiring has anything to do with it but just in case for info. Can someone give me advice on something I can do to at least get it started?
