(maybe Audi will say 'no DSG' now, as to keep sales up for manual)

What a let down if no DSG in this car.
New car, why not put in the latest tranny in it to give it another edge against the competition?
Would be another case of Audi missing the point, as they did by not bringing an A3 2.0TQ here in the first place.
Just my $0.02.

I just read a magazine that mentioned that the new M3 will be getting a DSG
It sure would be a shame if they beat Audi to the punch with a longitudinal DSG.

Maybe there's more to it... (Performance-wise) If the S5 (6spd) hits 60 in 4.9 then...
potentially, the DSG(S-Tronic) could come in around 4.8 <--That might be more performance than Audi wants to make available for a non-RS car considering the RS4 is rated the same. Finally the actual "RS5 version" released later (with a 6-speed) may not have a large enough performance difference to justify sales if it is "only" getting 4.5-4.7 numbers. Then there is also the R8 to be concerned with. Might be a case of overlapping too many similiarly performing cars with vastly different price points. More difficult to justify a car that costs $130K when a car less than half the price (same brand) can almost match its performance.
