My $13 Tire
Ok, first off.... I've got to give thanks to those that convinced me to buy the Wheel&Tire insurance. See thread: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho....php?t=2802551
Having said that...after only 1200 miles of driving my new baby, my front passenger tire developed a blister on its sidewall. Yes, Oh yes, NJ roads SUCK! Can't wait to leave! Anyway, I went to the dealer and the warranty only covered $332 of the $345 cost for the tire. The warranty company told the dealer to eat the difference or charge me. You guessed it...I got charged $13.
WTF! I know its only $13 for a new tire, but the warranty was supposed to cover the whole cost not portions! I mean that is what I paid for; isn't it? The dealer told me to contact the warranty company and see what they say.
Now the question: Have any of you had to deal with this BS? Shouldn't the warranty cover the whole cost? And how is it dealing with the warranty company? Any key words I need to know. Thanks.

Weird, my buddy had the same thing (bubble in the sidewall) happen to him and he got a new replacement tire at no cost. He didn't buy the wheel & tire insurance either....it was covered by his new tire warranty. You should look into that next time.

I know this is kinda petty being only $13 and all. But yeah it is worth the headache since my concern is not just the principle of the matter but that this time it is only $13, at this dealership. What happens when I relocate and the next dealer wants more than $13?
Do I just suck it up again when the next dealer charges me more than $13....not that I am not hoping there is an again.
I just want to be positive what the insurance is supposed to cover. 100% is my understanding and as such I shouldn't be coming out of pocket for one more dime...I already paid enough for the insurance.
@ Beakerz - interesting point...didn't think of that angle.

Thanks for the check Guzman! I'll watch the mailbox...lol.
They don't have Phantom Black for the 2011 A5. But I do! I originally special ordered "Panther Black Crystal Effect" but Audi came back and said they couldn't do the color - its their color, but still couldn't do it. Anyway, consolation was Phantom Black.
One more year and I'm off to my next station, hopefully someplace warm and with better roads! Good riddens NJ!

I have replaced three tires on my 08 S5 under the tire and wheel warranty with a total of $0 out of pocket. That is across two local dealers.
I agree it sucks but I also agree its not worth the time for 13 bucks. I would go to a new dealer for all your service going forward and send every repair/service invoice to the GM of the $13 dealership.
