No boost until 2500rpm
My 8 speed b8 runs and drives well, with the exception that boost doesn't come on until well above 2200. It won't make boost at all if I leave the trans in M and accelerate at a lower rpm than that. The car doesn't consume any oil, dv valve, pcv valve are all good. There's no signs of any boost leaks. I've done a TB adaptation on Vagcom. I have a p0420 code when I do a scan but the CEL doesn't come on. It seems like b8s are pretty laggy in general but can't seem to get a good answer on what's considered normal. My family has a 2015 Tiguan auto 2.0t, and recently had a 2010 CC M/T, and the throttle response and turbo spoolup are very good at 16-1700, so my assumption is the A5 should be similar. Is this how all b8s are, or just the autos? Or do I potentially have an issue?

My '14 allroad doesn't really make good power till 2500 or so, you really don't want full power that low in the rev band anyway. Get it over 3500 and it will wake up.
The "sidewinders" you compare your A5 to are different in a few ways, notably intake and exhaust are straighter shots so they spool up a little quicker, but sign off quicker too.
