Thank you for a very informative post.

I ordered a Q5 e prestige the last week in July. I was told that it would be for the new model year which was worth the wait.

My understanding is that my order was put into the Audi system on the order date, but to date status of the order has not changed since entering my order. So at this point the salesmen says we have to "wait until the system picks up the order". That response does not make a lot of sense to me. So, I need some help undersanding how the Audi order entry system works. I had heard that the dealer had sold 15 new Audi's during the same time that I ordered mine. So, I do not know if there is a monthly allocation each dealer gets on a monthly basis, or if the dealer prioritizes the orders that he has, or if it is defaulted to the order entry date. From your post I suspect that the dealer prioritizes the vehicles in his slot for production. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim
