Default You can guess...

I don't have a commercial account with AW, so Neil won't let me say who "us" is, but Alwin is talking about me, my name is Rich and I don't own Mad Audi.

Default Margins

I am not sure how having an uncle in Germany relates to profits of importers, but our margin is definitely NOT insane. If it was, I would have flown up to Alwin's house and installed these for him!

Default You are selling headlights for $1750 US, that would cost my uncle 450 eurp

thats a pretty sweet margin.

Default For example?

Hi Rob,

I'm not sure if I follow the 'insane' reference. Could you give me an example of a product we sell with unrealistic pricing? We try to be competitive with other suppliers in the marketplace and provide fair pricing for products not offered by anyone else, so I am surprised to hear that we are so far off the mark.

BTW - When did you email us about the switch? Recently? What email address did you use? I don't recall getting anything from you.

Default I also agree with insane prices...

I'm considering purchasing the S6 led DRL and I compaired OEMPLUS prices with some other vendors and their prices were a bit more.

I also bought items from MADAUDI and other than a little long wait for the products(for understandable reasons and Alvin reply to all my emails) the transaction went well.

Default Does your uncle work for Valeo?

I think that even Alan (MadAudi) would agree 450,00 € is a pretty good deal. Can your uncle get me 10 sets?

But seriously, the A5/S5 Adaptive Cornering headlights retail for 537,88 € each from Audi AG, so that is 1075,76 € a pair. Converting to the dollar (at 1.55707 today) would be $1675.04. Add shipping, tariff and customs fees to that and $1750 is pretty much where you end up.

Still insane?

Default No, not really, the adoptive xenon ones actually cost 590 euros, I called myself the dealer in

Germany. So add those up and you get 1180 euros for a pair. Given the current euro exchange rate of $1.58, it costs around $1864 for a pair. I don't know, but these guys have to get it from somewhere else cheaper, otherwise they don't make any money. You also have to calculate that 590 includes the German 19% sales tax which you get back from the government when you export goods. So actually the lights cost around 495 euros, which gives you a total of 990 euros, which is $1564. But then the guys have to pay customs for importing. So not much profit left :-)
