One thing to consider is, vanity plates make remembering you much easier. Depending on how you drive that might be a negative thing.

My suggestion - skip the vanity plates altogether. I think they're childish. For a classy car like this, it kind of diminishes it. Maybe if you had a toy car like a Beetle or Mini, not this car. IMHO.

for me, i would just go with whatever the license office give me. I like to keep it low profile, sometimes if you are unlucky, custom plates, specially those really high profile, will attract losers to your car. End results may be scratches or dings if not worse....

But how do you keep it low profile with an A5/S5?

I like that. I have a friend who had one of the first Miatas when they came out, in yellow, and she had a license plate that said "BZZZZ." It worked well on such a small car.

I agree with the sentiment that vanity plates that try to brag about the car are low class. I'd rather see something that alludes to somthing such as a hobby you enjoy (like 10SNE1 "Tennis anyone" - although I know that's taken) or something else unique to you. Being an engineer - I would also be tempted to get a plate that plays on the mathematical definition of acceleration: "DV DT" or "DDX DTT"

exactly, and with a high profile plate, you are asking for trouble at a higher rate
