To each their own on the "vanity" or custom plate . . . I decided to do one simply because of the significance of this model for Audi, first coupe offered in the states in years. I'm in Oregon and went with NUVLRI as in Nuvolari quattro from which the A5/S5 decended. I also wanted a Crater Lake plate to go with the blue theme. I don't think my plate is tacky or childish, on the other hand I think it's quite creative and unique. But like I said, to each their own . . .

If you want a plate, do it. Don't let others influence you. It is your plate, not anyone else's, if you like it, do it, if not, then don't. Who cares what everyone else thinks.

It's like that insurance commercial:

"Okay, but tell me something I didn't already know."

haha

Seriously, though. I like the colors and simple design of the plate - second only to Delaware's all black plate with white numbers. Here in PA it's like a 3-color gradient sunset fade background... thankfully, we don't have to wear a tag up front.

Very good point. Not only is this true, but it also attracts cops more. Or if someone wanted to remember your plate for a report, it's easier to recall when it's personalized. Not that we'd ever do anything bad on the road... ; )

The only reason I'm getting a personalized plate is because the new Texas plates are God awful ugly. They have no business being on an S5...

I totally agree, the new Texas plate is horrible. I went with the "State of the Arts"
