To each their own on the "vanity" or custom plate . . . I decided to do one simply because of the significance of this model for Audi, first coupe offered in the states in years. I'm in Oregon and went with NUVLRI as in Nuvolari quattro from which the A5/S5 decended. I also wanted a Crater Lake plate to go with the blue theme. I don't think my plate is tacky or childish, on the other hand I think it's quite creative and unique. But like I said, to each their own . . .

Seriously, though. I like the colors and simple design of the plate - second only to Delaware's all black plate with white numbers. Here in PA it's like a 3-color gradient sunset fade background... thankfully, we don't have to wear a tag up front.

Very good point. Not only is this true, but it also attracts cops more. Or if someone wanted to remember your plate for a report, it's easier to recall when it's personalized. Not that we'd ever do anything bad on the road... ; )
