Default Removing Filler

We live in Florida and do not need a front license plate holder.
Can the entire filler panel be removed from the grill of the 2011 S5 Cabriolet ?
We have seen grills completely free of the filler panel and like the look.

Is it a big deal to remove or just a few screws, nuts, and bolts ?

The filler that is designed for US license plates is actually mounted on top of another filler that is intended for European license plates. If you want the clean look (like in the attached picture) then you should install a "blank" filler. You remove the US plate filler by (a) removing two torx screws located at either end in the lower left and right corners, and (b) pulling the filler up and out. This exposes the European style filler. Then put the new blank filler in place, and screw it down with the two torx screws.

You can buy the blank filler here: http://madaudidesign.com/site/model_a5.htm

Does the filler snap in and out . . . or must you removed other parts, then remove the grill to take the filler off ?
Just looking for an idea as to what might be involved.
I don't want to disassemble the front end when that might not be necessary.
Thanks for you help !

As ChipB wrote above, the filler plate is placed over the Euro plate folder that is part of the grille assembly. Only two screws are used to fasten it to the assembly. The US plate holder requires a bit more finesse to get on or off (remember to take the plate off first, as there is a screw hiding behind the plate).

I swapped the US plate holder for a filler in less than 5 minutes. Sometimes they wedge in the plate holder a bit (as they did with mine), but be careful as it can crack if you use brute force.
