Default UPDATE - Build Constraints

I have bad news. My dealer just called me back...production has been stopped! He advised me that Audi has come across an issue with the clutch. To ensure they act accordingly they have stopped production until the issue is resolved. He advised that he was not provided with a time frame, therefore the 3 months that has been mentioned is unconfirmed. If I hear more I will update you all.

Argh!! Thanks again. Does this apply to the entire A5/S5 line?

He didn't elaborate on that, but I would assume yes. As stated earlier, he didn't confirm the 3 months we have been hearing. I agree with the earlier post that Audi is all over this and it will be resolved quickly. If the did say 3 months I'm sure it was just to be conservative.

Unknown at this time. He did say that they are in the investigation stages and it may end up being driver error. Specifically he said they have had two cars come in with the same issue. Again it may be a case of them just being proactive. Only time will tell.

Default That just doesn't smell right...

I just called my dealer, and he checked with his area rep. The answer was, there is nothing out of the ordinary, and you know they take three weeks off for Christmas.

It just doesn't seen plausable that they would shut down production for TWO similar problems. Just my 2 cents.

That doesn't make sense based on what I heard yesterday from my dealer. I am waiting for a Tiptronic, and the salesman said the car could take up to 18 months to arrive because they were out of engines and had a long waiting list. The clutch problem wouldn't affect that wait at all. Are there two different delays?

Default Could be true

Someone on another forum posted comments about Audi going with a different clutch on the S5 about a month ago. Clearly something is causing the production delays. As long as they maintain the quality I don't mind so much.
