Default Vagcom vs OBDeleven

I'd like to buy one of these but online shopping is not definitive! In the Vagcom line there are many choices.... OBDeleven the 'Pro" model seems to be the one if you go this way! What are the thoughts here?

I like my VAG-COM. I've had it for almost 20 years now. They have a pretty active forum where you can get support. Since I bought it so long ago, there are no limits to the number of cars or the number of modifications I can make. No credits to worry about. It is more expensive, but they offer "enthusiast" versions that limit the number of cars for a lower price. Even their "Pro" @ $599 is cheaper than what I paid 20 years ago.

ODBEleven looks pretty cool. It's newer and connects wirelessly to your phone. If you plan on keeping your car for a while, get the pro version because you will probably use all the advanced functionaltiy such as live data and basic settings to do maintenance.

I don't know how often you work on your car or how many VAG cars you have. I think that would be the determining factor for me. If you have many cars or old cars that may require lots of "credits" or the advanced features, then I might go with the VCDS. If you just have a fairly new VAG car and just want to make a few customizations, then OBDEleven is probably a better deal.

Either way, I can almost guarantee this would be the best return on investment for your car.

Unless you're an actual mechanic who relies on professional tools, the OBDeleven is hands down the better choice.
A one time fee with no subscription hassles. As suggested, you want the Pro version. The OBDeleven is user/enthusiast oriented and will basically let you do almost 90% of what a real VCDS will. Just keep the dongle in your car and you always have your phone with you when you drive so you always have it available at any time whereas a VCDS will require a laptop and cable set-up.
This guy explains it the best.

I bought mine direct from the manufacturer in Lithuania.
