***Official*** B9 A5/S5/RS5 OBDEleven Coding Thread (Updated 8/6/2018)
#151
Hello all, I have a quick question regarding the B9 A5 SB with Premimum Plusm , Winter Pkg, Summer Pkg. S-line sport seats. Hers the question. Has anyone successfully adapted the "Easy Entry" option using OBDeleven V 0.9.8.5 ( I think its the latest update.) as described in the " Audi B9(A/S4,A/S5,RS5)coding" document posted at the #1 post of this thread. the instructions are:
Seat Adjustment Drivers Side
Easy Entry.
Description:Seat Adjustment Drivers Side
- Long Coding
- Change Easy_Entry_front to Active
- Press and hold green check mark to accept
Now when I first started the "Easy_ Entry_front" was NOT active. ,So I changed to Active" pressed and held the Green Check mark to accept, which it did.
Exit module, Open drivers door ... and nada.. Reentered module, check setting which said active.. Any Ideas.?
Really would like to get the easy entry working.
Also used same OBDEleven to Change comfort turn signal count. from the same page.
Central Module Comfort System
Exit module, Open drivers door ... and nada.. Reentered module, check setting which said active.. Any Ideas.?
Really would like to get the easy entry working.
Also used same OBDEleven to Change comfort turn signal count. from the same page.
Changing Comfort Turn Signal Count.
Description: This will change the number of times the blinker flashes when lightly pressing down on the turn signal stalk. By default, it blinks 3 times.Central Module Comfort System
- Adaptation
Turn signal control - “Freeway flashing, flashing cycles” default value is 3. Set new value up to 4.
Press and hold green check mark to accept
Which work right away and as expected.

thanks for the reply/ could any one tell me how to get / use the "one-step" ? apps. I'm not familiar with it. I just got the OBDeleven Pro device.I checked my App on my phone. it seems I have 25 points/credits .Step by step directions would be helpful as teaching tool for me.

Hello All,
I found out how to use the one step apps from OBDeleven on my phone.
I Applied the app to the car and it said it was accepted.
The Option show up on the MMI (Vehicle Settings->Seats=>drivers seat), and show enabled (grayed out) and
an addition message below said " the selection is currently unavailable."
I shut off the car, open the drivers door, and the SEAT SLID BACK ABOUT 3". Hurray!!
I waited about 1/2 hr. thinking about it over coffee. When I went out and started the car again.
The MMI. only displayed the Easy Entry Function, able to be enabled or disabled with the Check box.
The "...unavailable" message was GONE. Hurray..
I re-scanned the car and did a comparison of Pre-install and post-install app. modules.
the following is my conclusions based upon observed data.
From the original Posting #1
1- the "36-Seat Adjust Drivers Side"
2- Long Coding 0
3- Change "Easy_Entry__Front" to Active
4- Press and hold Green Check Mark to accept.
This will result in a bit change to "Long Code 1", Byte 6 , Bit 2 was 0 and now is 1
at this point if nothing else is done. the Easy open does NOT work.
After checking all other modules for changes I found the
"09 Central Electrics" module was also changed.
there were no "long code 0" changes I could detect
there were changes to "long code 1" byte 14, bit 2 was changed from 0 to 1
-------36-Seat Adjust Drivers Side-----Bytes-----------------------------------------------------
00 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 15 byte #'s

00 5C 1B 40 00 00 B4 01 0000010101010000000000000000000000000000000000 - New Long Code
---------09 Central Electrics--------------------Bytes-------------------------------------------------
00 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 15 byte #'s
07 50 03 63 E0 08 1C CD 05 17 87 14 18 AC 98 B9 110B3D08000000000000000020001A010A690122025705 - Preinstall long code
07 50 03 63 E0 08 1C CD 05 17 87 14 18 AC 9C B9 110B3D08000000000000000020001A010A690122025705 - New Long Code
So my conclusion is the one-step app made both changes,
where as the posted description of this change may have left off a step.
This is of course based upon My B9 A5 SB with it's options. Your mileage may vary...

Thanks for that deep dive! Many of us have tried that single change with poor results. I'll give your changes a try now.
EDIT: Got the settings to stick and the MMI option now shows up. It's grayed out still as you mentioned. I didn't get the 3 inch move when I opened the door immediately. I'll wait and give an update.
Question, where do the first set of bytes line up with? Are those part of the 36 control unit?
My values there are currently:
00 5C 1B 40 00 00 B0 01 00 00 00
Looks like I may need to manually edit that B0 to a B4 also?
EDIT2: I went back and added that edit for section 36. Still not getting any movement. Will wait and see.
Do you think the 'store settings on remote control key' is important to having this work?

Hi, I edited my post to more clearly indicate which module is which byte/bits. The B4/B0 are for the36 modules and the 9C/98 are for the 09 module.
You must have seat memory installed for this to work. I did notice that in the 09 long code 1, byte 6, bit 2 has actual words "EasyEntry" instead of "bit 2" checked as others on screen do, yet the 36 module does NOT have words for long code 1. byte 6. Bit 2 is "Bit 2" and checked. I suspects the MMI needs to "refresh" before the settings take hold.I'm not sure.

Success! Thanks again!
Either it was allowing the MMI to reset naturally overnight, or checking 'store settings on remote control key' (previously I had not), activated this.
When you refer to seat memory, are you referring to that check box, or the fact that one can assign 1 or 2 positions on the car door buttons?
Definitely should edit the google doc to reflect this! Is there a single user who monitors the docs, or can anyone edit it?

Thanks for the info. Very nice of you to set up the document without actually having an OBD11!
I tried editing, but then realized I wanted to make it user friendly, and I could not recall the exact steps I had to take to get to the 2 bit edits. I'll go through it all again and take better notes.

I do have a VAG-Com which in theory can be used to make these changes but I did just order a ODB11 Pro since they are on sale. The VAG-Com I have can't fully access all the modules in the newer Audis so I need something to use when my B9 finally arrives sometime early next year.
