5 things to do after you get a new car
#11
I take my S5 to Simons Shine Shop weekly for a hand wash. They use fresh mits/towels for every vehicle and every time my car is perfect. I have not used them for stuff like ceramic/clear bra since I can do it myself or get a discount at the dealership I work for, but the only vehicles in there are high line/exotics, so others trust them.

Here's what I've done in the first month:
1) Bought all-weather cargo mat.
2) Scotch-guard the carpeting and floor mats.
3) Had an initial detail and polish performed and also had Opti Gloss Coat applied.
4) Bought ONR, a bunch of microfiber clothes, and other detailing supplies.
My car came with a tint from the dealer, so I can skip that one. Next item is exceeding 1000 miles so I can begin to push the car.

+2 Don't wait for rocks to chip at that Monsoon Grey - great color ! My son bought an A3 in Monsoon and had him Xpel and coat it immediately. Then as others suggested, purchase ONR -- when too cold to lug the hose out, this stuff will keep your car clean -- and some good microfibers.

For got to mention in the earlier post I also applied Kiwi liquid shoe polish on the plastic rocker panels on the S-line. It blackens and shines it up nicely, has not washed away after several trips through automatic car washes.
One more pointer - if applying RejeX try to keep it away from rough plastic parts like the rocker panel, it can be difficult to remove. I had applied painters tape on the plastic rocker panel to make life easier.

Don't forget to let your insurance company know you have a new car.
Has anyone compared the results of Optimum No Rinse (ONR) Wash and Shine with RejeX (the excellent stuff I've used for years)????

I just got my quote for the A4 I just picked up. My insurance is going up $350. I was surprised it went up that much. But I was only paying $700 year, so I guess that isn't too bad. I'll be shopping around again though.
