Yes - I missed that in my 1st response. The fact my SB has nothing but clearance when I put down the back seats is irrelevant.

So yes, if putting the seats down in a typical fashion scratches the fronts seats, that's crap.

This issue is similar to how some BMW M4's would crack visor mirrors when flipping the seat forward to get in the back. When the seat motor moved the seat forward the headrest would push right into the mirror causing it to crack. Most of the owners where able to get the mirrors replaced under warranty.

How MB deals with this issue. My brother's 18' C63 coupe has a sensor and automatically scoots the seat forward once the back seat latch is opened, allowing the seat to fall flat and not hit the back of the seats.

The SB is about 2 inches longer than the coupe. Just enough to prevent this issue on the 4 door version.

I used to have a similar issue in my 06 GTI. The rear head rest would clip the seat backs and mark them up over time.

It looks like Audi is aware of the problem. They have a caution statement in the Owners Manual.

I tried using some meguiars leather goop, but the marks seem scratached into the seat, so sad

I will be going in today to point it out to my dealership, let's see what they say. I hope audi takes responsibility for this as it's clearly an issue that their product is facing.

that would be a very slimy way of shifting blame onto the customer after the fact. If this was mentioned to the customer before hand, i understand...
but to say, "you didn't read the manual regarding folding your seat forward, before you did it" would be pretty bad.
