Default b10 s5 news

So, I heard some rumors and new b10 s5 will have 4pots with electric assist. However, RS5 will keep its 2.9 liter V6. Both will have mild hybrid assist. It look like all S5 fans will be loosing that 1.0 V6.
I currently own S5, and sadly it looks like I will be making a move to BMW for their I6 models B58 engine. Just my opinion. It is sad to be honest, I expected more from Audi.

And where did you hear this rumor?

I am subscribed to a Russian youtube channel that go over different types of car news. Usually they are very accurate in their comments, and this time they said RS5 will keep 2.9 but S model will go with 4 pots.

No idea of it's true or not but I can see it making sense. A4/5 gets the 4 cylinder with the mild hybrid system like it has now. S4/5 get the 4 cylinder with an electric motor for additional power and become plug in hybrids. Audi has already confirmed that the RS4/5 will get the V6 with a electric motor for additional power and become plug in hybrids like the Porsche Panamera E-Hybrid 4S and the Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid.

It is sad that all us S5 guys will get 4 pots under our hoods.

Wondering how it will sound, love the sport exhaust on my 2021 S5 SB.
Also curious about performance. Current A5 versus S5 is not that far off for 0-60. If B10 A5 versus S5 is pretty close, not sure if it'll be worth an extra 10k (at least here in Canada) for no V6.

Once Audi releases information on their b10 engines I feel like I will be saying good bye to VAG group lol. Sad direction they are moving , It is almost as Audi should get rid of their S models, it gets diluted too much

This mentioned TDI engines.

Honestly not too surprised based on new requirements, Mercedes is doing the same with AMGs. I'm excited for the hybrid option but not sure about losing the V6. We shall see

I almost want to go and buy like m3 or something and keep it for ever, so my kids cant hear what a real powerhouse looked like before futuristic sound that current electric cars produce.

The S5 went from a V8 to a supercharged V6 to now a turbocharged V6 and maybe a hybrid turbocharged 4 cylinder. The exhaust note is nice but I think people will care more about performance. Mercedes is gabling a lot on that by moving the C63 to a 4 cylinder hybrid..
